This week, Booking Through Thursday asks: If someone asked you for a book recommendation, what is the FIRST book you’d think to recommend (without extra thought)?
Ooo, this is a tough one. One good thing about me reading so many different genres is that 9 times out of 10, I will always have a book to recommend no matter what kind of genre the person asking for a recommendation is into. There's definitely a couple of go to books that I've been recommending a lot recently:
Good for anyone that likes a good story with characters that will tug on your heart. |
This is one of my all time favorites. I love recommending this one! |
True Story: I read this book all in one sitting at Starbucks during college. |
I've recommended this book so much over the past year to people wanting to cure their Hunger Games hangovers. This is a five star rated book for me that I want everyone to know about. |
What are your go to recommends?
I just finished reading Me Talk Pretty One Day. Sedaris is a riot!
ReplyDeleteI always recommend Seal Woman by Solveig Eggerz, because the language is so amazing. I recommend the Patrick O'Brian Aubrey/Maturin books, but I know not everyone wants to plow through the detailed descriptions of rigging. It's worth it, though, for the amazing characterizations and rendering of the time.
I don't think I've heard of Solveig Eggerz or Patrick O'Brien before. I'll definitely check them out.
DeleteA couple of those books have been recommended to me and are on my "to read" list. You can see what I would recommend here
ReplyDeleteHappy reading!
Oh, they're all good!
DeleteGreat recommendations! I've read all of them, except The Language of flowers which I have on my tbr list.
ReplyDeleteThe Language of the Flowers was definitely one of my favorites of 2011.
DeleteI love Divergent! I recommend it to everyone. :)
ReplyDeleteSame here. I can't wait for Insurgent!
DeleteOh my goodness - yes!! I recommend The Language of Flowers all the time (I've even been guilty of shoving the book into people's hands)! Also, Divergent is a great dystopian YA recommendation.
ReplyDeleteOh both are so good in very different ways!
DeleteMe Talk Pretty One Day is one of my favorite books as well! David Sedaris is hilarious, I usually have people starring at me I'm laughing so hard.
ReplyDeleteDavid Sedaris cracks me up!!!
DeleteI would happily pick up any of your recommendations! I've heard so much about Divergent -- definitely must put that on my must-buy list.
ReplyDeleteI checked it out from the library but I think it's one of those books that I need in my collection!
DeleteI am gonna check those out!
ReplyDeleteHere is my BTT post!

Yeah, it was hard just to name a few!
DeleteRunning with Scissors is on my night stand and is probably next in line after Middlemarch. I'll have to check out the other ones.
ReplyDeleteIt's just so out there that you can't really believe it's real!
