How would you like to be able to travel with extraordinary historical fiction author, Margaret George, through some of the places where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I (the subjects of two of her books) once walked? Through Academic Travel Abroad, Inc (a tour company located right here in DC), you can spend a week and some days (October 11 to 21) walking the sites with an author who is no stranger to the places that she will be taking you to. There's stops at several castles and other sites that factored in to the stories of both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.
I'm dying to get back to England so this trip sounds like it would be perfect. I only really got to see London when I was there but this trip takes you to places like Windsor Castle and other places outside of London.
Oh, and it falls over my birthday so if any of you all are looking for something to buy yours truly, well, I've just given you a big hint *wink wink nudge nudge.*

ReplyDeleteWouldn't it? I hope they offer something like it in the future so maybe I could go!
DeleteI just finished Wolf Hall, which is about the life of Henry VIII. This tour sounds fascinating!
ReplyDeletedo visit!
I've read tons about the Tudors so this tour would be a wonderful way to bring all of that reading to life.
