Yay! It's time for Armchair BEA. Don't know what Armchair BEA is? Check out the website! And then sign up and participate :)
1. Please tell us a little bit about yourself: Who are you? How long have you been blogging? Why did you get into blogging?
I'm Meg. I've been blogging for almost a year and a half now (hard to believe!!!). I started book blogging to share my love of reading with my fellow readers. I also really wanted to help others find books that they love.
2. What are you currently reading, or what is your favorite book you have read so far in 2012?
I'm currently reading Slant of Light by Steve Wiegenstein (historical fiction). Probably my favorite read so far this year was Written in Ashes by K. Hollan Van Zandt.
3. Tell us one non-book-related thing that everyone reading your blog may not know about you.
I live in DC and it's one of my very favorite cities in the world. I can't imagine living anywhere outside of this area!
4. What is your favorite feature on your blog (i.e. author interviews, memes, something specific to your blog)?
I have a meme called Literary Locale where I talk about where I'm reading about or just where I'm reading in general. I have so much fun with it!
5. Where do you see your blog in five years?
I hope that I'm still writing about all of the great books out there and helping find my fellow readers some great books to read!
6. Which is your favorite post that you have written that you want everyone to read?
This probably changes on a daily basis. Here is one of my more recent posts that I really like: Ebooks from the Library?
7. If you could eat dinner with any author or character, who would it be and why?
This is probably another one that changes every day for me. I would love to eat dinner with Ernest Hemingway. I think he was a fascinating guy. I'd love to talk about all of his travels with him. I love to travel too!
8. What literary location would you most like to visit? Why?
Oh, this is so hard. Reading and traveling are probably my two most favorite activities ever. I think I'd like to go back to London and take a literary tour of some kind. There is so much history and so many stories there!
9. What is your favorite part about the book blogging community? Is there anything that you would like to see change in the coming years?
I love my fellow readers. I don't know a lot of people IRL that read as much as I do but in the book blogging community, I've found some amazing people that share that love.
With some of the drama that has gone on in the past couple months and weeks (no need to rehash it here), I hope we can be more respectful of each other and love each other for just being a part of this great community!
10. Have your reading tastes changed since you started blogging? How?
Only slightly. Before I started book blogging, I did not know anything about indie publishers or self-publishers. I had no clue that these things existed. Book blogging opened up a whole new world for me in that regard!
Are you participating in Armchair BEA this year?
Nice to *meet* you via Armchair BEA. Enjoying your site. :-)
ReplyDeleteI think it would be so fun to live in DC!
ReplyDeleteI love it! There's always so much to see and do!
DeleteOoh...a literary tour of London? Now, that sounds awesome. I'd really like to visit London sometime in general. Never been. My sister really liked it though.
ReplyDeleteGreat to get to know you a bit more!
-Lauren
Wouldn't it be fun? I was there for only 3 days. It definitely was not enough time!
DeleteI would like to take a tour in London too. When I was there last year I went on a tour in the Shakespeare Globe Theater. It was pretty cool learning about that time period. I'd love to go to the area where Pride & Prejudice is written though!
ReplyDelete-Melissa @Harley Bear Book Blog
I was really sad that I didn't get to the Globe when I was in London before!
DeleteI would love to go to London one day, too. It would be fun to do a literary tour through there.
ReplyDeleteI was just saying to my mom and sister that I want to go down to DC sometime this summer - I haven't been there in years and want to go to some of the museums and monuments again.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and I hope you have a great week!
Kristin @ Always With a Book
I never get tired of seeing the monuments and going to the museums. There is always something new for me to see!
DeleteEating dinner with Hemmingway would be great, especially if one of his cats with 6 toes came along too!
ReplyDeleteI think DC is one of the greatest places around! You're so lucky to have all of those great museums so close by.
The Flashlight Reader
Yes! Getting to visit one of the cats would be amazing (I'm a huge animal lover).
DeleteI'm really spoiled by living so close to the awesome, free museums. I'm always a little mystified when I visit other places and have to pay to go into a museum ;)
Dc is very rich with historical information. Very nice to meet you.
ReplyDeleteIt's an amazing place!
DeleteI wanted to visit London too. I had the opportunity to stay there for over a year. I like your Literary Locale meme. Thanks for stopping by my blog.
ReplyDeleteYou're so lucky that you got to spend so much time in London!
DeleteYay, I'm participating in Armchair BEA too! I'm so excited that I won your favorite book so far in 2012 - that makes me anticipate reading it so much more!
ReplyDeleteI CANNOT wait to see how you like the book. I really think you'll like it!
DeleteI love to read & travel too! London is so awesome! I'm going to have to go back & see more next time! <3 Hope you have a fun week! <3

DeleteI'd love to go to London as well. My sister just went there recently and I'm pretty jealous about that. :) Im loving these little mini interviews! Here's mine: http://janaeslifeasamama.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteIt's a really great city!
DeleteI do agree that DC would be an awesome place to live! and I agree about London too, when we were there, we didn't have time to do any literary stuff... we just had a weekend for some museums and castles! :) Here's to a great ABEA week! :)
ReplyDeleteDC and London are both fantastic places!
DeleteThanks so much for stopping by my blog, I love hearing about your posts for Literary Locale that sounds like such an awesome idea!
ReplyDeleteIt's so much fun!
DeleteHey Meg,...stopping by to say Hi. I'm not participating in the Armchair BEA, but reading all of the posts has been fun. It's always great learning a bit more about fellow book bloggers.
ReplyDeleteAgreed! I've loved reading about everyone!
DeleteCool !! I'm hoping that I'll be able to visit DC one day.. LOL. I've visited London, but that was when I was only 2 years old, so obviously, I don't remember much of it.
ReplyDeleteDC is fantastic. There is tons and tons of stuff to do!
DeleteSo jealous that you got to go to London! I have been wanting to go for years and was supposed to my last year of college, but it sadly didn't work out.
ReplyDeleteAww, hopefully you'll make it someday!
DeleteI love that I can help the Indies and self-publishers out. There are some great books out there!
ReplyDeleteOff to check out your feature. Sounds really fun actually. :)
