Why You're Reading This Book:
- You're a fiction fan.
- You're a romance fan.
From Goodreads.com: "Second in a sexy, playful new series of women's fiction imagining what it might be like for a modern American woman to fall in love with a British aristocrat, from new author Megan Mulry.
Sarah James is an accomplished American woman who heads her own chic shoe company. Devon Heyworth is the rakish, ne'er-do-well younger brother of the 19th Duke of Northrop. When the two meet at the Duke's wedding they embark on a whirlwind weekend romance. And what begins as a casual fling at a royal wedding quickly proves to be far more meaningful. But when a string of misunderstandings threaten to tear them apart, their meddling aristocratic relatives join forces to reunite the star-crossed lovers."
My Two Cents:
"If the Shoe Fits" is the second book in this series from Megan Mulry. The first book is called "A Royal Pain," which I read and really loved. While this book was a little spicier than "A Royal Pain," it was still a really fun read. Although this book is the second book in the series, you don't need to read the first book to get this one.
I really liked the love story between Sarah and Devon. Both characters appeared as secondary characters in "A Royal Pain." Sarah is an American shoe designer with a great business mind. She isn't looking for love at all when she meets Devon. Devon is intelligent but often chooses to hide behind his playboy persona. When they fall for each other, they fall quickly but they aren't really sure what to make of their relationship. Is it a one night stand? An infrequent dailliance? Or could it be something more?
As I mentioned before, this book is definitely a little more spicy than "A Royal Pain." I thought this was such a fun book though! It's the perfect book to while away an afternoon when you're looking for a fun book to relax with. I am really hoping that Ms. Mulry has something else up her sleeve for this series!
