Odds and Ends (4)

Always.
Last week was a really big week for me. My husband and I closed on our house. We're first time homeowners so it's very, very exciting. It was a little anti-climatic since we're not moving for about three more weeks but still very exciting. I hate moving and am looking forward to just getting settled again. I find it really unfortunate that I can't just teleport my stuff from one place to another.

This weekend was really busy. I went to a bridal shower for a good friend. We had a family dinner for my youngest sister, who will leave this week to go off to graduate school. We had another family lunch to celebrate my aunt's birthday. It was a good way to spend the weekend.

That being said, I didn't get a whole lot read this weekend. C'est la vie!

What's going on in your part of the world?

    1. Haha, I started the packing process this weekend. It's not that fun to pack up all of those books!

  3. Yea! Congrats on the new home! It's been nearly 3.5 years for me, but it's still exciting to say I'm a homeowner.

I hope the move goes smoothly. I know it's not fun, but look at it this way, it's a great way to cull stuff.

  4. Woohoo -- congrats on purchasing your home! So exciting. When my boyfriend became a homeowner last year, I teased that he'd officially become "a grown-up." It's a very exciting time, though I'm sure stressful, too! Hope everything goes smoothly for you.

  5. Congrats on the house! With all that's on your plate, it's not surprising that you haven't had a lot of time to read. Hopefully things will slow down for you soon.

  6. Congrats on the new home! 3 weeks will seem really short while packing.

I have basically been an Olympic zombie this weekend. And I mowed, and dealt with dishes I had put off for a bit.

    1. I'm not going to know what to do with myself now that the Olympics are over!

  7. Congrats on being a home owner - you'll have to update with pics later on. I'm looking for an apartment, but there's nothing out there atm.

Also, the only time I wish I only had my e-reader and no physical books is when I'm moving. Good luck!

    1. Sigh, books are definitely going to make up the majority of the boxes for me!

  8. Congratulations on closing on your house, Meg. I'm jealous, as we're waiting to complete our own sale. The boxes are all packed, but we can't move yet!

Hope you get to read lots of great books in your new home.

Hi! Welcome to A Bookish Affair. If you leave a comment, I will try to either reply here or on your site!

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
