  2. I feel like Little House on the Prairies is one that I read when I was a kid, but I can't remember if that's just because I watched the tv show now and then. Enjoy your reread!

  3. I really need to get to the Winter Palace. It looks fantastic!

Currently I'm attempting to slog my way through The Hunger games trilogy. It's slow going.

And The Little House books are some of my favorites. Did you ever end up reading the spin-off series they had? About Caroline Ingalls and Rose Wilder Laura's other relatives? They were actually pretty good.

    1. Are you not liking the Hunger Games or is it just a slow read for you?

    2. Yeah, I don't like the series. It's got a ton of holes and is weakly constructed. (In my opinion.)

    3. I liked it but there were definitely some holes.

What was the spin-off series to the Little House series called? I don't know if I've read any of those.

    4. There were actually four spin-off series, but they're all pretty much related.

The first one was called "The Martha Years" and it's by Melissa Wiley. Martha was Laura's great-grandmother.

The second one is called "The Charlotte Years" also by Melissa Wiley, and it's about Laura's grandmother.

The third one is called "The Caroline Years" by Maria D. Wilkes and it's about (you guessed it) Laura's Ma, Caroline.

The last one's called "The Rose Years" by Roger Lea MacBride and it's about Laura's only child, Rose Wilder. Roger MacBride was Rose Wilder/Laura Ingalls Wilder's heir.

They're quick reads intended for a middle-grade audience, but I liked them. I own all of the Caroline and Rose books, and like to read them along with the original Little House books in order.
