So last weekend, I reported the plagiarism issue to Google. I wasn't expecting things to happen quickly as I have a feeling that the interwebz is still very much the Wild West when it comes to getting plagiarism dealt with. I looked at the website that plagiarized my blog yesterday and all of my information is still up there! The sucky thing about it that the blog in question seems to be a robot blog just trying to get hits so there isn't a person on the plagiarizing blog side for me to urge to take down my information. Sigh... I'm trying to be patient but I just want this situation gone.
I was complaining about the issue on Facebook and a couple of my brilliant friends suggested that I get other people to report the blog in question. Here's the blog link: http://guditesms.blogspot.com/
If you are so inclined, I would love for you to report them too. Strength in numbers?
Edit: Here's how to report:
- Go here: https://support.google.com/blogger/answer/76315?hl=en&id=5967236752525452880&url=http://guditesms.blogspot.com/
- Choose this option: Spam, phishing, or malware on Blogger
- Enter this url: http://guditesms.blogspot.com/
- Hit submit!
Happy rest of your weekend to you!
I'm with Kim -- how do I report? I'd love to help you out. Just email to Google?
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a straight cut and paste job over there! Sheesh. Google just needs to close the account!
Thank you!!! I really hope that Google does close the account. I've added some directions to this post on how to report this issue.
DeleteI had this problem on my site a while ago. I added a Creative Commons license saying that my work could be reposted, but with credit and without modifications. You can customise the license to fit your own preferences. I know it sounds really obvious and I didn't expect much reaction, but it did the trick for me.
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, I know nothing about having a Creative Commons license but I feel like I need to look into getting one. Is it hard to do?
DeleteI was wondering that too... how do you report it?
ReplyDeleteI've added some directions to this post now. Thank you in advance for reporting!
DeleteI'd love to help report it. I don't want to go to the actual site though because I don't want to add hits to their numbers. What is the process for reporting?
ReplyDeleteI've added some directions to this post. Thank you so much for being willing to report!
DeleteHow did you figure it out? I can't believe what they've done and wonder why. Be the squeaky wheel. Report tham everyday. Google will figure it out.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason that I figured out is because I have an incredibly nice author friend who happened upon the site as she was looking for potential bookleg copies of her book online. Thank goodness for amazing friends!
