Sometimes I wonder if I'm watching to be informed or just to take in the absurdity of it all :PMeg @ A Bookish Affairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15634397276714805455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8091584537195738879.post-3012593208280575382012-03-20T23:24:57.621-04:002012-03-20T23:24:57.621-04:00Hi Catherine,

I'm snickering as I read this today because there is political intrigue in my tiny NC town. Our mayor has brought criminal charges against a County Commissioner. They both need to grow up and wear their big boy pants. It's like our own absurdist drama. I need to read this book to put my small town politics into perspective.Catherine Leehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14998035693869891918noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8091584537195738879.post-91828815218762288592012-03-20T18:21:32.680-04:002012-03-20T18:21:32.680-04:00I hope you will too - but then again, I'm a bi...I hope you will too - but then again, I'm a bit biased.Jonathan Gouldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06169533695637011148noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8091584537195738879.post-53908127861343874362012-03-20T07:37:47.625-04:002012-03-20T07:37:47.625-04:00Glad I could host him!Glad I could host him!Meg @ A Bookish Affairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15634397276714805455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8091584537195738879.post-14804476186071139822012-03-20T07:36:56.539-04:002012-03-20T07:36:56.539-04:00I think you will!I think you will!Meg @ A Bookish Affairhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15634397276714805455noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8091584537195738879.post-63384805331861685672012-03-20T07:35:53.489-04:002012-03-20T07:35:53.489-04:00Ah, that makes total sense with regard to the West...Ah, that makes total sense with regard to the Westminster system! Thanks to Jenny and Anne for your supportive comments.

Out of interest, the story is based on Australian politics (the Flidderbugs' political system is more like a Westminster system as employed in Australia and the UK). But I suppose some things are universal.

Would love to hear more thoughts on humor and politics, or anything else book related.
