The Lives of Henry VIII and Elizabeth I: A Tour

Guys, I had to tell you about this because I think this would be a fabulous trip. Unfortunately, my husband and I are in the midst of buying a house (our first house - and it is totally daunting to me, but that's another story) and thus, travel funds are nil. But maybe one of you will be able to go and I'll just live vicariously ;)

How would you like to be able to travel with extraordinary historical fiction author, Margaret George, through some of the places where Henry VIII and Elizabeth I (the subjects of two of her books) once walked? Through Academic Travel Abroad, Inc (a tour company located right here in DC), you can spend a week and some days  (October 11 to 21) walking the sites with an author who is no stranger to the places that she will be taking you to. There's stops at several castles and other sites that factored in to the stories of both Henry VIII and Elizabeth I.

I'm dying to get back to England so this trip sounds like it would be perfect. I only really got to see London when I was there but this trip takes you to places like Windsor Castle and other places outside of London.

Oh, and it falls over my birthday so if any of you all are looking for something to buy yours truly, well, I've just given you a big hint *wink wink nudge nudge.*

Henry says he hopes you'll get to wear a cool hat like his (photo credit)
So where do you get more information on this awesome trip? Well, just click here.

(full disclosure: I was contacted by Academic Travel Abroad, Inc.; however the opinions contained in this post are mine, all mine)

    1. I've read tons about the Tudors so this tour would be a wonderful way to bring all of that reading to life.

Hi! Welcome to A Bookish Affair. If you leave a comment, I will try to either reply here or on your site!

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
