Literary Locale: Provence, France

Last week, I reviewed The Sister Queens by Sophie Perinot. Both of the main characters, Marguerite and Eleanor, were from Provence. Provence is a place I dream about visiting someday. It sounds so peaceful and so gorgeous. I can see why the sisters missed such a gorgeous place as they were at court with their husbands.

I've visited Umbria before in Italy, land of hill towns and this looks a lot like that. (from wallcoo.net)

Yeah, I can totally see why Eleanor and Marguerite would have not been happy to leave this place!

Feel free to grab the Literary Locale banner and play along!

  1. I have read this book and had difficult time putting it down until I got all the way through it. The story is quite remarkable - isn't it. I hope you you will be visiting Provence soon.
    We love it.

Hi! Welcome to A Bookish Affair. If you leave a comment, I will try to either reply here or on your site!

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
