It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

Currently Reading:

I probably won't see the movie in theaters (I'll wait for Netflix) but I like to make sure that I read the book before I watch the movie!

Just finished:

A really heartbreaking book. Look for a review up soon!

So, what are you reading this week?

  1. Yes, I don't think I have Something Borrowed...I have read others. The similar names sometimes confuse me!

I believe I read Something Blue...

Yes, I like reading the book before the movie, too.

    Here's MY MONDAY MEMES POST

  2. Oh, I loved Something Borrowed -- and am really looking forward to seeing the movie! Like you, I try to always read the book before heading to theatres... though I didn't get a chance to finish Water for Elephants before seeing it last weekend.

  3. I bought Something Borrowed from a thrift store the other day. I knew it was coming out in the theaters, and I hate not reading a book before seeing its movie adaptation. Part of me (the nerdy part) loves being able to compare/contrast the two works.

  4. Something Borrowed wasn't my thing, but I hope you enjoy it! Cleopatra has been giving me the stink eye for about a year now...I should really pick that one up soon.

    Happy Reading week!

  5. I saw Something Borrowed yesterday at the theater, it was cute! I like to see the movie first, so the movie isn't ruined for me... If i read the book first then I can see all the discrepancies. No matter what, I will like the book more.

  9. @Jenna (Literature and a Lens) I love comparing and contrasting too. I tend to drive anyone who comes to see the movie with me crazy afterwards with my nerdy endeavor :P

  10. @Alison's Book Marks I'm very, very excited to get started on Cleopatra! I've been waiting to read it for awhile. Let me know how you like it once you read it!

  11. @hypermak I usually like the book more as well. I think in a lot of ways, the book can be more descriptive than the movie. Words can describe things more accurately, I think.

  12. @Kat P I know! I had to be on my library's waiting list for probably about a month to get Cleopatra. Ick!

  13. @dollycas aka Lori I'm so excited to finally get to read Cleopatra! As Nature Made Him is a great book but I wanted to punch the doctor in there. He was pretty unethical IMHO.

  14. I saw Something Borrowed in the theater this weekend and didn't realize until later that it was based on a book. The movie was pretty good, but I suspect the novel was a lot better.

    Hope you enjoy it!

Hi! Welcome to A Bookish Affair. If you leave a comment, I will try to either reply here or on your site!

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
