Best of 2011!

Happy Tuesday you guys!

Today Armchair BEA asks us to share our favorite books for this year so far!

Like mystery? Like Italy? Do I have the book for you...

Madame Tussaud is pretty amazing!

Have you read either of these? What have been your favorite reads so far this year?

  1. I have both of these on my TBR list! I was wondering about Juliet because I've heard both good and bad about it. If it's one of you're favorites then I'll definitely have to check it out!

  2. Madame Tussaud was one of my top reads this year too! The funny thing is I might not have read this if I hadn't won an ARC. I guess I was afraid that it would be more of a historical romance. Thankfully it was really well written and enlightening! It's nice to learn the history behind such famous people.

  4. I read Juliet this year too and loved it. I liked all the references to Romeo and Juliet. It made me want to read the play again.

  5. I haven't heard of the first one, Juliet, but now I REALLY want to read it :) I've been wanting to read Madam Tussaud for a long time, but just haven't yet, I've heard amazing things about it though.

  6. In 2009 I decided to step away reviewing for publishers and publicists. I felt like I was losing my focus and drifting from my mission statement of sharing the joys of reading. Call it taking a librarian's approach to blogging. Come see what I mean.

  9. I just got Madame Tussaud and really want to read it. I loved Moran's Cleopatra's Daughter.

  10. @Kat P I really liked it. It had a little bit of mystery to it. It would be a perfect book for summer if you find yourself needing an escape!

  12. @Lah I wish it were appropriate for me to wear a dress like that. I'd probably stand out a little too much :P

  13. @Anne Yeah, I had a lot of the play memorized when I was in high school. I was obsessed with the play and the movies!

  15. @pussreboots I can totally understand why you would want to do that. I do take books from publishers and authors but I'm staying true to my commitment to provide real reviews of books.

  16. @Chrisbookarama I actually own the rest of Moran's books but I have yet to read any of them (I got them all at a going out of business sale at our local Borders). I hope to soon!

Hi! Welcome to A Bookish Affair. If you leave a comment, I will try to either reply here or on your site!

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
