Literary Locale: Summer Reading

It's finally feeling like summer here in DC. It's not my favorite time of year. It's beginning to get hot and sticky. The good thing about summer though is there are tons and tons of places to read outside in the sun!

DC is full of gorgeous places to read. My favorite place is called Meridian Hill Park. It's so amazing. There's tons of places to sit and just to hang out. I know that I will be spending a lot of time there this summer!

This picture is my own.

Where are you reading? Where is your favorite summer reading place?

  1. This looks like a great place to read as long as there is a nice shaded spot with the DC heat:)

  2. How cool! I've actually never heard of Meridian Hill Park, but looked it up -- gorgeous! Will definitely be dragging my boyfriend there in the near future!

    1. It's awesome and very, very close to where we live. I'm there quite a bit!

  3. Oh wow! Neat spot! It kinda reminds me of The Lurie Garden in Millennium Park in Chicago. Perfect for relaxed reading outdoors :)

  4. My favorite spot is on the couch with the sliding glass door open. All the comforts of home with a fresh breeze :)

  5. That looks like a really relaxing place to read.

My favourite place to read used to be on the balcony, but now we have smokers next to, above and below us, so I hardly ever go out there anymore :( We may have to get the entire balcony glazed in, which I hate, but short of moving there's not much else I can do. (sorry for the rant)

  6. This place looks amazing! I love that picture. There is no cool anything in Texas where I live once summer hits...except the pool. Thankfully, my gym has a nice one, and the kiddies don't come out usually until later in the afternoon. You can catch me poolside there. Soon. :) Maybe even this afternoon.

    1. And living in the city, that's one thing that I don't have. I miss being able to lay out by the pool!

  7. Next time I'm in Dc, I'll have to look for Meridian Hill park.

I don't like to read at the beach but otherwise, anywhere outside where there's a mix of sun and shade, and a comfy place to sit.

As of 6/6/2011, this book is now an awards free zone. While I appreciate the awards, I would rather stick to reviewing more great books for you than trying to fill the requirements.
